Join us for a weekend in April full of Balboa and Music in the charming city of Bern.
You'll learn new moves, variations and concepts with Anna-Maria and Ralf. And with three parties, you'll get to dance a lot during that weekend! On Saturday, Raphael Jost and his band will play for us.

Anna-Maria and Ralf
Anna-Maria & Ralf have a long-lasting career in Swing dancing and teaching. In 2016, they got married, and since then, they have shared their passion for swing dancing and their lives. In 2012, they started their first classes together. They are well known for their unique partnership, flow and smooth Balboa style. But they also love to swing out and do the Lindy Hop, twist their feet in Charleston and play around in Authentic Jazz.
Anna-Maria explored ballet and other dances since her childhood before becoming infected with the fun of Swing Dancing. She also has an apprenticeship in Yoga.
Ralf was playing Badminton in his childhood until he started swing dancing in 2007. He has taught Lindy Hop and Balboa since 2010 in Leipzig and helped build the scene.
2014 Anna-Maria & Ralf founded their “Swing Dance Leipzig” studio, teaching Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz and their favourite dance, Balboa, in weekly classes and weekend workshops. They successfully placed at several Balboa competitions in Europe and the US in 2017 and started teaching at international events.

Raphael Jost Trio
Raphael Jost (*1988) grew up in northeastern Switzerland. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts), majoring in jazz piano and singing as a minor subject. His instinct for catchy melodies, his virtuosity on the piano, and his skill as an arranger are outstanding qualities. Raphael was honoured with the Soloist Prize of the European Young Artists' Jazz Award in Burghausen (Germany) in 2012 and won the Swiss Jazz Award three years later.
With his own bands, Raphael Jost has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Jaffa International Jazz Festival Tel Aviv, Bingen Swingt Festival, the Schaffhauser Jazzfestival, Festival Da Jazz St. Moritz and many more concerts across Central Europe, Sweden and Japan.
The Raphael Jost Quintet regularly plays for Swing dancers, including a concert at Rocky Balberna 2023.
